Kathryn Fross

Staffing Manager

Kathryn started out in the home care industry right after graduating from college. Her first job in the industry was in a 65 person lock down dementia nursing home and she immediately felt a connection with the residents she took care of. After trying her hand in various long-term care facilities, she realized dementia and hospice care were her two passions. Growing up, Kathryn was blessed to have her Grandpa Ed at every track meet, cross country race and any other event imaginable. He had 35 grandchildren and even more great-grandchildren, yet when you were with him he made you feel like you were the only one. Between him and her parents, Kathryn learned early on to have a deep admiration and respect for the wisdom of older generation. Eventually being a CNA led Kathryn to meet her husband and start their own home care agency, which they operated for four years in the Spokane, WA area. Kathryn truly enjoys her job because she feels that she can help both caregivers and clients achieve a high quality of life. It is her way of giving back to those who have given so much to our communities and nation. Kathryn loves being able to surround herself every day with individuals who want to give back to their community.

Sharon Straughan

Staffing Manager

Sharon has been a part of the Home Care Assistance team for a year but brings over 10 years of experience in the health care field. She is confident in using her knowledge, experiences and expertise to find good matches between clients and caregivers. Sharon loves getting to know her caregivers and clients so that she can successfully pair them. She feels humbled to be able to assist families in their time of need. That has led her to be an advocate for clients. As a CNA herself, she can relate to clients, families and caregivers. She knows that we will all need care at one point or another in life, so her mott is "whatever you put out in the world will come back to you".

TracyJo “TJ” Ehlers

Client Care Manager

TracyJo or "TJ" has been in the industry for 10 years. She has spent eight years working with agencies after two years of private care for loved ones. TJ is a Nurse Delegated CNA. She has done hands-on client care and been a Caregiver Supervisor. TJ is able to help set up systems of support in client homes for both caregivers and families. She is patient, perceptive and a critical thinker. TJ once earned the nickname “Radar” from a client because she always knew what he needed before he even asked.

TJ has been an advocate for those in need in every aspect of her life. She believes in making every individual who comes into her life feel special. TJ's favorite part about working with seniors is the moment they get that sparkle in their eyes, a smile or a laugh. Being in “the now” with them that is so crucial. TJ feels accomplished when she knows the seniors in her community are safe and cared for.

Born and raised in West Seattle, she loves to show newcomers around Seattle and surrounding areas. She's a huge bird watcher and nature lover so she's everyone's go-to source for the best local or regional state parks. She often enjoys these parks herself on her motorcycle with family and friends.

Jennifer Hoffman

Staffing Manager

Jennifer has been in the home care industry for almost 20 years. She started off working with individuals on the Developmental Disabilities Medicaid Waiver Program. Jennifer became the Executive Director of a home care agency and spent three years in that role. There she focused on compliance, billing, training, safety, and quality assurance. She has now received her bachelor’s degree in Health and Human Services and is working towards a Certification in Human Resources Management.

Jennifer believes that each one of us can make a positive impact on the lives of those around us. We just need to slow down and make the effort to be present. Jennifer enjoys her job because she can impact the quality of care provided to vulnerable individuals. Home care allows her to relieve some of the stress families are feeling and help their loved ones live safe at home.

Kelda Fairleigh

Head of Operations

Kelda brings over 15 years of experience in sales and operations to her role with Home Care Assistance. Coming from the hospitality industry, her customer service skill set is incredibly important to her and serves her well during her transition into the home care industry. She prides herself on being able to listen to and empathize with clients and her team, as well as help them identify solutions to their issues.

Kelda is everyone's biggest cheerleader. She always looks for the best in someone and utilizes their strengths. Helping people is what she loves and she feels best when she is able to help clients and team members each day.

Kenneth Castillo

Client Care Manager

Kenneth brings six years of professional work experience to his role as Client Care Manager at Home Care Assistance of Seattle. Prior to his current role, he worked as Director of Staffing for a large skilled nursing facility working closely with residents and nursing care staff. Kenneth brings his expertise in healthcare and staffing along with his passion for building meaningful relationships to his role as Client Care Manager.

Nicey Hilton

Home Care Liaison

Nicey brings more than twenty years of experience in business development, training and community outreach to HCA. Her background in community outreach, medical device sales and marketing at Physio Control Corporation as well as her decade spent selling, teaching and motivating diabetes and critical care pharmaceutical teams at Eli Lilly & Company make her an ideal fit for our Seattle team. In addition, Nicey has spearheaded local community outreach projects in telemedicine and goal-setting wellness technology.

Nicey received her bachelor’s degree from University of Washington and is a graduate of Leadership Tomorrow (LT), Puget Sound’s leading community leadership development organization. LT inspires emerging leaders to take on public roles that will benefit the region. After reading in the New York Times that Home Care Assistance worked closely with Stanford University’s Center on Longevity developing deep technical and innovative care resources for seniors, she joined our team!
On a personal note, Nicey understands firsthand the importance of caregiver support for families as she has been involved in end of life care for several family members.

Tiffany Kopec

Home Care Liaison

As the Home Care Liaison for Home Care Assistance, Tiffany helps adults and their families coordinate their care needs with expertise, experience and compassion. She brings more than 9 years of healthcare experience to her role. Her background includes working in the fields of home care, home health and skilled nursing facilities.

Tiffany is dedicated to working with seniors to help them live the best life possible, and in home care can be an integral part of achieving this goal. She is especially excited to share Home Care Assistance’s Balanced Care Method, a holistic approach to healthy aging, with seniors in the Seattle area.

Tiffany is an active member of the senior care community. She is involved with the Senior Care Coalition, Coordinators of Patient Services, Eldernet, Brainworks, the Washington Self Insured Association, and more. She was also the recipient of Care Partner’s Partner of the Year award in 2016. A Seattle native, Tiffany received her Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration from Washington State University.

Mina Yap

Care Advisor

Mina is a Licensed Vocational Nurse and began her career in health care in 2011. Since then, she has learned a lot in her many roles. She started as a hospice nurse and then became a nurse for concierge doctor, home health nurse, and intake coordinator for a home health & caregiving agency. Mina believes that helping people who can't help themselves is what we are here for. By working for Home Care Assistance, she feels she can make a difference in the lives of seniors and help the home care industry thrive.

Laura Contreras

Care Advisor

Laura has over a decade of experience in the medical field, where she has served as a medical assistant and front office manager. She is a certified MA with the state of California and worked for 10 years with an Internal Medicine DR who specialized in Geriatrics. Laura enjoys helping families and making them aware of all the options they have regarding home care. She hopes to help seniors live safely and independently at home.

James Ferlin

Care Advisor

James brings over 15 years of customer service experience to his position at Home Care Assistance. He prides himself on his ability to provide quality customer service and understand the needs of those he serves. He has a genuine passion for helping people, which is what drew him to the home care industry. He looks forward to making a difference in the lives of seniors and their loved ones every day.

Elaina Davis

Care Advisor

Elaina brings over 10 years of customer service experience to her role at Home Care Assistance, Her specialty is educating clients on our services with compassion and understanding. Elaina loves working as a client advocate to help each client find the best solution for their needs. Relieving stress from family caregivers and helping seniors to remain in their homes is what she finds most fulfilling in her role. Elaina's favorite part about working in customer service is answering the questions a client may not have even realized they need to ask. She aims to take as much of the work off of the client as possible, making the process as stress-free as possible. She looks forward to making a difference in the lives of local seniors!

Yvonne Razo

Care Advisor

Yvonne has over ten years of experience in the medical field, working for a large in-home respiratory provider. She worked closely with physicians and hospitals to provide life-sustaining equipment dedicated to keeping aging seniors in their own homes. Yvonne is skilled at working with clients’ loved ones to help ensure an easy transition even though the seniors may have difficult health issues. She finds fulfillment in knowing that working in the home care field makes a difference in clients’ lives in a time of need.
