The Basics of Home Care
Our compassionate, certified caregivers provide assistance in all activities of daily living including:
- Bathing, dressing and grooming
- Cooking and nutritional guidance
- Transportation to doctor’s appointments, pharmacy and grocery store
- Light housekeeping and laundry
- Medication reminders
- Help with range of motion exercises
- Conversation and companionship
- And much, much more…
We can provide these services on a customized schedule that fits your needs, from hourly service a few days a week up to full time live-in care. Here at Home Care Assistance, we believe there is never a right age, just a right way to age.
Home Care Assistance only employs the best professional caregivers in the area who have a passion for eldercare and are committed to our mission of providing seniors with the best care possible. All potential caregivers undergo a detailed face-to-face interview with our Director of Human Resources.
All of our aides are certified by the State of New Jersey and they work under the supervision of our Registered Nurses
. Our caregivers must pass the state certification testing and background checks, our internal criminal background checks (national, state and county level), sex offender registry checks, work authorization checks and our exclusive psychological screening test for home care aides.
It’s important to note that our caregivers are OUR EMPLOYEES, NOT CONTRACTORS. Unlike the situation with some referral agencies, with Home Care Assistance you are not saddled with the risks and hassles associated with being an employer. We handle the payroll
taxes, liability insurance, worker’s comp insurance, bonding and all other costs related to the employee. You exchange no money with the caregiver; everything is included in the reasonable hourly or daily rate, and we provide a detailed weekly invoice.
Continuous Training Program:
Caregivers are trained in The Balanced Care Method™. This method centers on the scientifically studied lifestyle factors that contribute to a longer and healthier lifespan, promoting total wellness and maximum independence for seniors. At Home Care Assistance we understand the important connections between diet, exercise, mental engagement and social ties to reduce stress and create the best life.
Our continuous education program
teaches caregivers the importance of nutrition, exercise, social ties, mental and spiritual health, and how all these things can contribute to longevity and wellbeing for seniors and individuals of all ages. Our caregivers are taught culinary practices and nutrition facts so that they are prepared to prepare meals for any client regardless of any dietary restriction. They are also trained in knowing what foods are beneficial to whom and at what times, dependent on client’s health, habit and goals.
