Meet the Bethesda Team
Dawn Seek brings over 30 years of industry experience to Home Care Assistance. Dawn worked as a home care aide and private duty nurse before obtaining her degree in Business Management. Dawn has held several management positions in home care including Finance Manager, Operations Manager, as well as Vice President of Operations for a large home care agency in the Washington Metropolitan area. Most recently, Dawn worked as a home care consultant for several years before coming to Home Care Assistance as the Director of the Maryland Region. Dawn serves as the Vice President of the Maryland National Home Care Association and sits on the DC Coalition for Long Term Care. Dawn was appointed by Maryland Governor Larry Hogan to the
Virginia I. Jones Alzheimer's Disease and Related Disorders Council in 2017.
As a Staffing Manager, Vinnette works hard to hire great caregivers to suit the needs and preferences of our clients. She has over 16 years of professional experience as a Certified Nursing Assistant and started her career at Home Care Assistance as a caregiver. She has always been fully dedicated to the wellbeing of clients, recalling her first client requesting that she wait for her after a post-fall hospitalization. Vinnette enjoys keeping both clients and caregivers happy and is passionate about her work at Home Care Assistance Bethesda.
Joanna Navas, BSN, RN brings 21 years of nursing experience to Home Care Assistance. After beginning her career in the hospital, she worked in Skilled Home Health Care before moving into Home Care fifteen years ago. As the Clinical Manager she participated in all aspects of opening and managing a successful private duty agency in the Washington Metropolitan area. Most recently, Joanna worked as a Case Manager with seniors in a managed Medicare environment, assisting clients in managing their health by working with them in complying with physician orders, locating helpful community resources, and interacting with physicians.
Rachael brings over ten years of professional experience in health care to her role as Staffing Manager. She started off her career as a Registered Nurse in Liberia and was involved in Women's Health Services, Pediatrics, Emergency Care and more. She went on to attain her Masters in Public Health and became involved in health care management by assisting non-profits provide health education to their communities. Rachael then worked in a variety of healthcare positions before joining Home Care Assistance as a caregiver, where she was quickly promoted to Staffing Manager. Rachael's passion for happy and healthy longevity make her a wonderful addition to the Bethesda home care team.
Alexandra is a registered nurse who began her career in the hospital specializing in Acute Rehabilitation. After 6 years in the hospital setting she decided to transition to a Home Care setting. Alexandra wanted to connect with her clients without time constraints and that is where she found Home Care Assistance. She is passionate about her clients making well informed decisions about their healthcare and she provides her professional guidance when needed. Alexandra has always believed in empowering and assisting others, and with her role in Home Care Assistance she is able to do that everyday.
Before joining Home Care Assistance, Shauna-Lee worked with Sunrise of Arlington as the Business Office Coordinator. Prior to this experience, she worked as a Staffing Coordinator for LivHome Inc. Shauna-Lee brings over 9 years of home care experience. She earned her MBA, Business Administration/HR from Morgan State University, Baltimore, MD. She is most proud of her ability to attract and attain the best people for the organization. Her position as a Human Resource Coordinator enables her to get involved in numerous areas like recruiting, employee rights, training and development, complaints and grievances and employee health and safety . Shauna-Lee believes our CGs are the backbone of the organization and that she is here to ensure they have what they need to perform at their highest level.
Kelby Shippy comes to HCA with over 20 years of consultative sales experience including Digital Media, Telecom, and Mortgage Solutions. His most recent position was a Senior Digital Sales Media Consultant at YP where he served as a market leader, a coach and a motivator to a team of Sales Executives and handled a million-dollar book of business. He obtained a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration from Bowie State University in Maryland. He is a three-time President's Club winner and is super excited about his transition into HCA. He lives in Upper Marlboro, MD with his lovely wife, two wonderful daughters, and their loyal dog Sasha. His hobbies include sports, gardening, music, and he is a foodie who enjoys foreign cuisine.
Carla has worked in Sales and Marketing in the healthcare industry for over 20 years in Pharmaceutical Sales, Sales Training, and Sales Management. She also has experience Hospice Marketing, Palliative Care, and most recently Home Care experience in the Washington DC Metropolitan area. Carla has used her strong leadership skills to establish and build effective relationships with her internal teams, referral sources, clients and their families; growing business in each of the various roles throughout her career.
