Before joining Home Care Assistance as a Home Care Liaison, Megan Bigbee was the co-founder of Capability Homecare, a boutique homecare firm located in Bellevue, WA. Megan’s passion for seniors started in high school where she participated in an Adopt a Grandparent program, which enabled her to visit with seniors at a local nursing home once a week. After receiving a Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education from University of Kansas she taught school for 5 years. However, after watching her grandmother suffer from Alzheimer’s she realized that she missed working with the elderly and wanted to help them stay safe in their homes. She and her husband created Capability Homecare, which quickly became a leading provider in the Bellevue area. After 10 years of running a successful company, they decided to merge with Home Care Assistance in order to build an even stronger company to serve their local area and clients. Megan’s passion for seniors continues to this day, where she volunteers once a month leading a cooking demonstration at a local nursing home as well as regularly participating in Pampered Hands where she provides manicures for seniors in Skilled Nursing. She loves working with seniors and her favorite part of her job is getting to know new clients and hearing their stories.
