New research shows that home care is the cheapest and best way to take care of your elderly family members.
An article published in the Kennebec journal, states that it is better for senior citizens to live at home as the quality care is better and
it is more cost effective.
Senior citizens may have such sensitive health problems that their only method of transportation is in an ambulance. In a home care facility, qualified persons will visit the home of the senior citizens in an effort to avoid emergency trips to the hospital.
Also, a bill is being presented to the House of Congress to make home care the norm. The Independence at Home Act will improve the quality of home care to those that need it the most. Currently, 10% of those with Medicare account for 66% of the Medicare cost. If a wider range of patients were treated at home, the costs would decrease greatly. More importantly, the Independence at Home Act would increase a senior citizens access to service while offering the same level of great health care.
