July marks a month of celebration for both Canada and the United States. With Canada Day on July 1st and Independence Day on July 4th, outdoor activities, family barbeques, picnics, fireworks, parades and more are in full effect this month!
Hearing the many, incredible stories of celebrations planned for this year and favorite celebrations in past decades from our clients serves a reminder of what amazing men and women we have the pleasure of calling our clients. A common thread weaving together the diversity of stories and experiences is the importance of community, reflection and appreciation. It seems as though there is just something special about the month of July that breeds a sense of togetherness and community, beyond one’s nuclear family, with neighbors and community members.
For those of your hosting or attending a bbq or picnic tomorrow or this weekend, here is a popular recipe for a Strawberry Summer Salad that is easy to make, delicious and nutritious (a great dish to balance out the hot dogs and hamburgers that will more than likely be served to guests). If there will be seniors at the gathering, make sure that you educate yourselves on these eight tips to ensure that everyone, especially the older adults, protect themselves from the heat and stay safe.
Whether this is your first July calling the U.S. or Canada home or whether your family has been here for generations, we would like to extend warm wishes for a safe, healthy and joyous celebration.
