Home Care Assistance of Palo Alto was founded by Dr. Kathy Johnson, PhD, CMC. The office has been the leader in home care in the Bay Area for the last nine years. The company is dedicated to helping seniors live well at home by maintaining health, independence and quality of life. A brief profile of the team is provided below.

 

Kathy Johnson

Kathy Johnson, PhD, CMC (Founder and CEO)

As a Certified Care Manager, psychologist, and caregiver, my mission is to extend quality of life for all older adults as far as possible. We provide services that allow for wellness, prevention and lifestyle enhancement.

Rona Caburian

Rona Caburian (Care Coordinator)

Rona has worked with Home Care Assistance for over three years, as our care coordinator she is responsible for scheduling, training, recruiting and matching caregivers with clients. She has over nine years of experience in health care staffing, and has been a certified medical assistant since 2003.

Rona plays an important part in staffing and supervision and the coordination of client care. She enjoys matching caregivers and clients since the end result makes everyone happy.

Michah Lene Garibay

Micah Lene Garibay (Supervisor of Direct Care)

Micah has been delivering great service to our clients at Home Care Assistance for over five years. She received her bachelor’s degree from San Francisco State University in business administration.

Micah began her career at Home Care Assistance as a caregiver, but was quickly promoted when her talents for matching caregivers and clients was identified. She retains a passion for the day-to-day care our clients receive and is always working to improve the quality of care we provide.

Emily Mangini

Emily Mangini (Care Manager)

Emily received her bachelor’s degree in Human Development from the University of California at San Diego and has been working in the field of community health and wellness. She has experience as a community outreach coordinator, teacher and personal trainer.

Emily enjoys helping others lead happy, healthy and balanced lifestyles. She brings this passion and skillset to our Palo Alto clients, and strives to provide the highest quality of care at all times. She grew up on the Peninsula and is very familiar with the Palo Alto area.

Lena Vyrva

Lena Vyrva (Staff Development Trainer)

Lena is a certified nurse assistant and a case manager. She has worked for Home Care Assistance for more than 4 years. In that time she has shown a talent for recruitment and training of caregivers that is invaluable.

Lena is certified in Dementia and Alzheimer’s patient care and has a passion for working with older adults. She brings this enthusiasm to her trainings with our caregivers and works closely with them to help them learn our Balanced Care Method.
